Super Bowl XLV will be the 45th annual edition of the Super Bowl in American football, and the 41st annual championship game of the modern-era National Football League (NFL). The game, to be played on February 6, 2011, will pit the AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers against the NFC champion Green Bay Packers to decide the NFL champion for the 2010 season. The game will be held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the first time that the Super Bowl will be held in the Dallas–Fort Worth area; and the third time it will be held in Texas (Houston was the host city to Super Bowls VIII and XXXVIII). WASHINGTON -- Faced with record levels of red ink into the foreseeable future, Washington is spending $2.5 million to create buzz for the census - by advertising during the Super Bowl.

The Census Bureau is hoping to exploit the strong ratings from this annual attraction, aiming to get more participation from people who now seem disinclined to mail back a government questionnaire or even answer the door.

Census officials call it a good investment, saying the front-end costs of purchasing the ads can be quickly recouped if they succeed in encouraging people to mail back their census forms. A recent poll found nearly 1 in 5 residents said they may not fill them out, mostly because they were unfamiliar with the census or weren't interested.

I just can't see the ROI of this investment ? This is a very big amount that the people will shoulder for the sake of census.

New York, NY, United States (AHN) - CBS rejected a potential Super Bowl ad from alternative dating site ManCrunch.com stating the 30-second spot did not live up to the network's standards and practices, CBS sources said Friday.

CBS also cited financial uncertainty as another reason for rejecting the commercial.

Shannon Jacobs, spokeswoman for CBS reportedly said in a CBS-issued statement that each half-minute spot costs approximately $3 million, but they did not have good faith the Web site could afford to advertise during the Super Bowl because there is no substantial credit history on the Toronto-based company.

However, ManCrunch.com spokeswoman Elissa Buchter contends the rejection is a form of discrimination.

Buchter, in a response to the Super Bowl network's letter, claimed her company offered to pay for the $2.5 million ad in cash.

Jacobs said other factors contributed to the rejection of the ad, including limited ad space. Numerous commercials from other companies were turned down for specific reasons through a process of elimination, Jacobs said in her release.

ManCrunch's ad shows two guys - one in Green Bay Packers colors and one in Minnesota Vikings colors - cheering as they watch the Big Game. The two reach for a bowl of chips simultaneously and touch hands. At that point, they engage in a lust-driven man-on-man kiss.

Boost Mobile, the prepaid phone service of Sprint Nextel, will air a 30-second advertisement during the first quarter of the Super Bowl on Feb. 7. The game will be aired on CBS

There is no disclosure of the ad amount but everybody knows that it range from 2.5 to 3 million dollars for every ads that will appeart at the 30 seconds ads in super bowl 44. The ad, created by Boost's agency of record, 180LA, will be titled the Boost Mobile Shuffle.

The Boost shuffle will reunite the original shufflers, including Jim McMahon, Mike Singletary, Richard Dent, Willie Gault, Otis Wilson, (former KC Chiefs' quarterback) Steve Fuller and Maury Buford.

On Jan. 25, Boost will launch a special site where consumers can view behind-the-scenes video from the commercial's production. (The site is not up and running yet.)

HomeAway has licensed the rights, through an agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, to use the property across various media throughout 2010.

The spot will compare the negative experiences at a hotel to the positive attributes of a vacation rental home. The Griswolds will deal with small hotel rooms, hidden fees and a lack of privacy at a hotel. Publicis in the West is the agency.

"HomeAway is a leader in the vacation rental business. We're a reasonable sized company that most people have never heard of," CEO Brian Sharples said. Steelers dismiss two coaches, but offensive coordinator Bruce Arians remains

The Steelers dismissed offensive line coach Larry Zierlein and special teams coordinator Bob Ligashesky on Thursday.

But offensive coordinator Bruce Arians survived the cuts. A Pittsburgh radio station reported earlier this week that Arians would be dismissed.

And head coach Mike Tomlin promised changes after the Steelers finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs in their defense of their Super bowl XLIV title.

Anheuser-Busch (BUD) bought the most airtime this year, PepsiCo will continue to advertise its Frito-Lay products, but not its soda, Dr. Pepper said it will advertise in the Super Bowl for the first time this year and recruited the rock band KISS for its commercial.

Tire company Bridgestone is the halftime sponsor, according to CBS, which listed other 2010 advertisers as Coca-Cola (KO, Fortune 500), Denny's (DENN), CareerBuilder.com, Monster (MWW), GoDaddy, E*Trade (ETFC) and Teleflora, as well as automakers Hyundai, Kia, Honda (HMC) and Audi, and film companies Universal Studios, Walt Disney (DIS, Fortune 500) and Paramount.

This year's drop-outs include energy drink company SoBe, tax preparer H&R Block and the conglomerate General Electric (GE, Fortune 500), according to the broadcaster.

The Super Bowl will take place on Feb. 7 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami.

Not so much information regarding the superbowl 2010 (44) advertisement has been provided to us, but today we found out that Universal, Paramount and Walt Disney have all bought TV spots. Universal and Disney have purchased one spot, while Paramount bought three.

Universal will probably show Robin Hood or Wolfman, Walt Disney might go with Alice in Wonderland, Toy Story 3 or Prince of Persia, but you don’t have to wonder about Paramount, as they’ll be showing Shutter Island, Iron Man 2 and The Last Airbender during the first and second quarters. For fans of all these films, let’s hope some of these spots have new footage.

Bears players want, expect Smith to return as coach

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Hunter Hillenmeyer isn’t entirely sure what’s going to happen. But the veteran linebacker spoke for many of his Bears teammates Monday when he said that he both hopes and expects Lovie Smith to return as head coach next season.

“I know that across the locker room you’ve heard it from a lot of guys that we think that he should be here,” Hillenmeyer said. “I’m under the impression that he will be. I certainly hope he will be.”

Lovie Smith has led the Bears to two division titles and a Super Bowl appearence in six seasons as coach.
The future of Smith and others in the organization will be revealed during a press conference Tuesday.

The Lingerie Bowl VII taking place at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL. The Lingerie Bowl is bigger than ever as there is now an actual league that got launched in Fall 2009 with 10 franchise teams.

Two teams from each LFL conference will advance to Miami for the LFL Conference Playoffs. The Chicago Bliss of the Eastern Conference and Dallas Desire of the Western Conference have already clinched playoff berths. Only two more playoff spots remain with Seattle Mist and Los Angeles Temptation competing in the Western Conference for the remaining spot while Tampa Breeze and Miami Caliente are competing for the final spot in the Eastern Conference.

A South Florida child abuse prevention group wants the NFL to reconsider booking The Who for the Super Bowl halftime show.

POMPANO BEACH, Florida (AP)—A South Florida child abuse prevention group wants the NFL to reconsider booking The Who for the Super Bowl halftime show.

Child AbuseWatch.net objects to Pete Townshend performing because of his 2003 arrest by British police on suspicion of possessing child pornography. He was eventually cleared but placed on a sex offenders registry for five years as part of a formal police caution for accessing a Web site containing images of child abuse.

The Pompano Beach group’s founder and CEO Evin Daly told the South Florida Sun Sentinel newspaper that their concerns are focused on Townshend.

“I’m a fan of the band, I grew up with The Who. Pete Townshend is the only issue, and the issue is that he’s a former registered sex offender,” Daly said. “The issue is, it sends the wrong message to American families.”

He did not return phone or e-mail messages on Friday.

In a Dec. 17 letter to Daly, Joe Browne, the NFL’s executive vice president of communications and public affairs, said the league was aware of Townshend’s arrest. He also noted Townshend’s charity work.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told The Associated Press on Friday that Townshend and The Who will perform in the Feb. 7 halftime show at LandShark Stadium in Miami.

“U.K. police cleared him since he was doing research for a project on child abuse,” McCarthy said.

Messages left on Friday for The Who’s U.S. record label, Universal, and the band’s publicist were not immediately returned.

It look like that there will be a $4 Million dollars advertisement that will show up at the super bowl where, Tim Tebow is the lead.

The ad would focus on mother of Tim Tebow.

(He's the Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Florida.)

She mom decided not to abort him in a crisis pregnancy.

(A 30-second Super Bowl ad would cost about $4 million.)

Pam Tebow and her husband were Christian missionaries in the Philippines in 1985 and they prayed for "Timmy" before she became pregnant.

Mrs. Tebow later became sick and slipped into a coma - some urged her and her husband to have an abortion.

According to LifeNews:

"Tebow refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the devastating disabilities physicians predicted. She ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and, eventually, gave birth to a health baby boy in August 1987."

No word yet on whether or not CBS will allow the potential pro-life ad to air during the Super Bowl.

The 2010 Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Dolphin Stadium in South Florida, one week before Super Bowl XLIV takes place on the same field. Broadcast live on ESPN at 7:20 p.m. ET, the Pro Bowl will for the first time be held prior to the Super Bowl and serve as the signature kickoff event of Super Bowl week.

Jacksonville, Fla. -- In his first season as the Jaguars featured running back, Maurice Jones-Drew has been selected to the Pro Bowl.

MoJo is in his fourth NFL season, and this is the first time that he's been selected to this All-Star game which will played in Miami, the site of Super Bowl XLIV. The Pro Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, January 31 while the Super Bowl is one week later.

Jones-Drew is the 16th different player in Jaguars history to get selected to the Pro Bowl, and he's only the second offensive player since 2002 to receive this prestigious honor.
